Albert Mandela is the executive director and visionary leader behind Luton Hospital. With a deep-rooted passion for healthcare and entrepreneurship, Albert has dedicated his career to improving the healthcare landscape in Kenya and beyond. Under his leadership, Luton Hospital has grown rapidly, providing quality healthcare to thousands of patients since its opening in 2021.
Albert’s journey into healthcare began with his own personal experiences as a sickly child, spending much of his early life in hospitals. Inspired by these experiences, he moved from his first love of investment banking and advisory to healthcare entrepreneurship and leadership.
To prepare himself for this transition, Albert pursued an Executive Program in Healthcare Leadership for Executives and Managers at Harvard Business School, as well as Executive Education in Healthcare Administration and Management from the prestigious Yale School of Management.
His leadership style is based on consistency, discipline, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Albert is dedicated to pushing boundaries and driving growth at Luton Hospital, with aspirations to expand the hospital’s impact across Africa. His focus on building efficient systems has been a key driver in Luton’s success—delivering not only medical care but also top-tier hospitality and service.
“Every day is a success if you achieve what you set out to do.” – Albert Mandela
